built by baby

My days are flying by! It may have to do with waking up at 10a almost everyday this week. Anyways, today I spent most my day making a dress from the Built By You (built by wendy) patterns!

I made the center dress. I'm sure it's only suppose to take an hour but it took me 6 hours! ha! The last time I made clothing was in 2004 when I was an apparel design major, and I never got to wear anything I made because it was hideous. This is my first time at making something from a pattern like that.

I decided I want to start making my clothes. It seems like the best route to take since I no longer have a job. And it was fun. I finished my dress today but I'll show you a picture of it later!! :)

After that I continued making owl ornaments.

They will be available in my shop on Monday November 3rd!

Keeping with the youtube theme at the end of each post this week I leave you with the song on repeat today!

  7. Looking forward to seeing how the dress looks. :) The last time I sewed was in Junior High, everything I made was too tight and I chose the ugliest fabrics...would love to revisit it someday.

I use to make childrens clothes and loved it, but couldn't for the life of me make anything good for me to wear. Can't wait to see the dress.

    Enjoy your weekend.

  10. Good job! I admire those that can make their own clothing, (sadly for me, I do not seem to possess this skill!) Great owl ornaments, too!
