In the Kitchen // Goat Cheese and Asparagus Pasta

Husband and I use to never cook at home. We would always go to a restaurant, get take out, anything but do it ourselves. After we got married in October we decided to change our eating habits; which meant cooking at home. It was fun looking for recipes and discovering food blogs. I've been wanting to share what we find and make but the sun would disappear by the time dinner was served. Now that the sun sets around 8p we have plenty of time for taking photos!

I shared this yummy looking recipe last week in my Friday Favorites, and we decided to make it this weekend. What I loved about this recipe was it didn't ask for a ton of ingredients; plus, it has two of my favorite things: pasta and asparagus!
This dish was quick, easy and pretty tasty.
Also, it's a great base for customizing. We'll add different seasonings to it next time we make this.
We used this recipe which was adapted from Bon Appétit

Where do you find recipes?
What are your favorite food blogs?

Speaking of food blogs; our friends, The Scribner's (they helped me share the Make It //homemade pizza!) have started a food blog! They have shared some pretty yummy stuff over there, such as a Pea Puree Crostini, Oak Barrel Aged Manhattans, and Peanut Butter Banana Bread

  1. That looks so yummy! I was never a big asparagus fan, but I'm slowly warming up to it. My current food blog obsession is Joy the Baker. I literally just want to shove everything she makes into my mouth. And Food Coma is pretty awesome as well.

  2. Ooooh, I bet this would be good with parmesan, too! I get a lot of recipes from Pinterest, or from wandering around the grocery store going, "Okay, what's the easiest thing I can make?"

  4. This looks great! Yeah, I'm usually taking photos of dinner in my kitchen with its horrible fluorescent lighting! :)

  5. Yum! It's really a lot of fun (cheaper & healthier too!) to cook at home. I'm excited to see what else you guys come up with!

  6. This looks really good! It's been a while since I've eaten asparagus. I think it just got added to my grocery list!

  7. Your pasta looks delicious! Nancy is right that it's fun as well as cheaper and healthier to cook at home. My favorite food blogs include Living the Gourmet, Sweet Treats and More, and The Girl Who Ate Everything. I'll check out the Scribners' new blog.

  8. I really need to cook at home more often, a much healthier option. I find myself looking through cookbooks just to look at the pictures of yummy food lol. This is a great pasta combination and I will be trying it soon!

  9. I need to try this, although my boyfriend isn't too crazy about cheese (I know! Right??) but maybe a little won't hurt. :) I don't follow too many foodie blogs and like Paige, I find stuff on Pinterest to cook. Lately that's where most of my dishes have come from.
