*Thank you everyone for the Birthday Wishes!!*
It's cold and gloomy here. Have you done some shopping today or are you staying in away from the crazy crowds?
I'm sure everyone is aware of the tragic incident that occurred at a Wal-Mart in New York early this morning. That makes me so sad, and angry. I can't believe some people.
I tagged along with my sister and mom this early morning. I followed them in a sleepy daze around JcPenny's at 4am. I felt like I was in everyone's way because I was dragging along and everyone around me was moving 100 mph. We stood in line for 20 minutes to pay. When my sister was next in line my mom went out to get the car and by the time she finished paying we ran out and jumped in the car and went to the next location: Wal-Mart. We were going there because we wanted to get one of my mom's presents. We got there at 5am and my sister ran out of the car to go ahead and get the gift while we found a parking. THERE WAS NO PARKING! It was insane!! Cristina finally called saying she was where the electronics were but couldn't find what we wanted. So it was my turn to hop out of the car and go into the dreaded store while my mom looked for parking. I put my game face on and ran inside. It was a mad house in there! On the way to the electronics the aisle was filled with people with carts and no one was moving. I said my friendly "excuse me" and "thank yous" as I squeezed between the carts. I finally saw Cristina, thank god she has colorful hair! And she had the items in her hand!!! I was so proud of her because when I walked by the cameras they had they were all gone. So then we bolted to the registers and we found a self check out that only had 4 people waiting. As we waited, I noticed most of the shoppers looked stressed, tired, and anxious.
We also went to Staples which was packed but we were able to get what my sister wanted. It was a successful Black Friday for her.
I'm doing most of my shopping online. There are a lot of Etsy sellers having sales this weekend! I'm not one of them, but I do give a free item with each purchase!
I leave you with a picture of my owl ornament!! It's time to put up those Christmas trees and decorate!
Tell me about your Black Friday experience!
aw i love his black n white stripes...or hers :)
ReplyDeletehappy belated bday sorry i missed it!
Another cute ornament! I hope ya had a good bday. Whew, your a trooper to get up at 4am to go shopping. My boyfriend had to be at work at 5am. Eek! That's good you guys got everything though.
ReplyDeleteI've only gotten up at 4am for Black FRiday once...it was not even worth it.
ReplyDeleteAll the news today of people dying and things...is really depressing to me for the state of the country. How can people go so crazy for any material item?
I slept in today!
Happy Birthday! I did not do any shopping on Black Friday...I am doing everything online I think. I hate shopping when it is crazy crowded-makes it so unfun! Your ornament is adorable!
ReplyDeleteOh hey! happy birthday. Isn't shopping online easier and less stressful? Cheryl and I shop at night. less crowds and more room to run around in. We don't try for the early bird deals anymore, after one dissappointing frigid morning last year. I'll pay the extra $30 and get some sleep!
ReplyDeletethis little owl ornament is cuteness..
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to decorate the house for christmas with all the lights and the christmas tree :)
i worked most the day. it was dreadful. all of the customers were in terrible moods when they came in. we tried to keep everything light hearted and fun but some folks were just insufferable. i did my shopping mostly on etsy over the past few months and i'm almost finished :-)
ReplyDeletei headed out for black friday around 10am figuring for SURE the stores would be crowded, but target and michaels weren't at all! it was a like it would be on the weekend!
ReplyDeletethat wal-mart incident happened 15 minutes away from my moms...very sad :(
oh and happy belated birthday!
