meow, it's Monday!

Song on repeat this week is: Agoraphobia by Deerhunter

Oh, why hello Monday.
So far you are starting off well.
Riley & I went to have breakfast and then we went to Hobby Lobby to get some chunky yarn I'm obsessing over. And now here I am, sitting beside a mountain of fiberfill deciding if I want to make another pot of coffee so I can start on the second half of exhibit one's order.

First on the list is fill the pancake Burl with my white beard.

Oh, I forgot to show off what I got this weekend!
This awesome print from staceywinters.etsy.com

now I need to find a magical frame for it. I have big plans to have a wall full of deer prints when I move to tulsa so I know exactly where to go when I do so! Can't wait! I'm trying really hard not to get everything now because that means more stuff to pack. Blah!
And looky at this! I want to cry, it's so precious.

Well, meow my friends, it's time to get to work.

enjoy your Monday

**Also, I've been featured in 2 awesome blogs

(untitled)

It's cold and dreary out, and even the coffee can't perk me up.
I woke up and did the computer thing: email, convos, twitter, myspace, blog.
Then I put tags on all the merchandise I'm giving to Dwelling Spaces. I really need to look into getting better tags. That's going on my "look into" list.
Here are the things I've been working on all weekend that will be at Dwelling Spaces this week, maybe. Oklahoma is expected to get our annual winter storm this week. Ice, ice and more ice. So, we'll see.

Anyways, you will be able to find Burl there!

Yetis!

We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming...
After posting the yeti photo Riley and I went to the store to get groceries before the weather got bad. I couldn't tell how bad it was until my car skidded a bit past the stop sign. On our way to the store everyone was going 20 mph in a 50 mph street.
I knew road conditions weren't good but I totally under estimated the parking lot.
I opened my car door, stepped out and WHAM fell on my booty. I was still holding on to the car door trying not to slide under. I should have known not to wear chucks, those are devil shoes when it comes to bad weather. My booty still hurts.
Ok, now back to your regular programming...

Little Bigfoots!

Owl Keychains!

Owl Buddies!

Owl snugglies and zipper pouches are being worked on today! So they'll be there too.
Now let's cross our fingers that the weather gets better so I can drive to Tulsa and drop these babies off!

Have a lovely day everyone! Stay warm!

Burl

So when I said you would see Burl in my shop very very soon, I really meant very very soon! Burl will be making it to Stelabird.etsy.com TODAY!!
I made a couple more last night and was very pleased with them.
And since it's cold here in Oklahoma I decided they needed a scarf to keep them warm.

I hope you love them as much as I do.
Have an enjoyable Thursday everyone!
What are your plans for the day?
Mine are putting Burl in the shop and making new items for Dwelling Spaces.

Introducing... Again...

On January 14, 2008, I introduced Mr. Squirrel...a print I made

Well, on January 21, 2009 I FINALLY did what I planned to do last year...

Make a 2-D version of Mr. Squirrel!! Or, now, Burl.

First step, find the perfect music &
draw the little guy.
I listened to Animal Collective's new album Merriweather Post Pavilion. I'm obsessed with their song My Girls. The whole album is really great, so be sure to check it out.

Next, draw the pattern & cut out

Sew

Stuff

I would like to introduce you to Burl

This is my very first attempt at my plush squirrel so I imagine him improving over the days as I practice making more. The first Burl is not for sale, he will be my buddy. But you will be seeing a Burl in the shop very very soon.

So, Meet Burl
He worries more than is needed
He enjoys black coffee
He hoards; pencils, acorns, cake, music. You name it, he hoards it
He loves to play keys

He's pleased to meet you.

**EDIT**
I have been informed that today is Squirrel Appreciation Day!!! How awesome is that!! In 2001, Christy Hargrove from Asheville, North Carolina started Squirrel Appreciation Day on January 21. Christy is a wildlife rehabilitator in North Carolina, and is affiliated with the Western North Carolina Nature Center.
So, feed your neighborhood squirrel, swerve when you see them in the street, be pleasant with the Burls. Happy Squirrel Appreciation Day.
