never too old

Today my sister and I prepared for the Annual easter egg hunt, also known as the easter egg massacre, and made Cascarones (confetti eggs)!!

We've made these since we were little and it's not a Easter Egg hunt without them!
To make Cascarones you...
1. want to dye the eggs. We just bought the egg dye from the store

2. let them dry

3. fill with confetti!

4. apply glue to the top of the egg

5. cover the top of the eggs with tissue paper

Ta-Da! Cascarones are complete and are ready for hiding and seeking and smashing!

It's said to be good luck when you break it over someone's head, but we smash it over the other's head so I don't know if that counts.
I'm nervous because tomorrow is suppose to be a rainy day so fingers crossed it's not and we can enjoy the good luck we will be spreading with those eggs!

Here was a picture from last year's EEM

I hope you get to hunt for eggs and I hope that if you don't this year, that you get to make cascarones next year! Also, keep in mind, you're never to old to hunt for eggs

  1. Yes, I agree, you are never too old to do a tradition, no matter what it is. I love how you and your sister do this!

    Happy Easter!

**Yes the eggs are empty. My mom started saving the eggs she would have for breakfast for a month so we could use them for Easter! We never have wasted an egg!
