a good morning

Confession: I don't wake up until 10am, sometimes 11.
We open our shop at noon, so I only have enough time to get ready, drink
coffee and sometimes eat.
I thought I would challenge myself this week to wake up at 8am everyday to
enjoy the mornings and not feel so rushed in my day.
I tried going to bed early last night but my usual bedtime of around 1am stuck.
Luckily, we only hit the snooze once and I was able to drag myself out of bed.
It was really nice waking up and not having to immediately do something.
Just drink coffee and enjoy my morning.
Then we were able to take that party outside on our porch! It was nice to
enjoy our porch without battling all the bugs like we do in the evenings.
Oh mornings, I can get use to you.

What time do you wake up? Are you a morning person? I am if I don't have to talk to anyone (except husband) till noon. Oh wait, that doesn't make me a morning person.

  1. I'm the opposite, i love my mornings - they're my only chance for peace and quiet before the house is filled with heavy metal music, barking dogs and email alerts! I wish the weather were warm enough where I am to spend my mornings outside though! :)

  3. I'm like you. I don't wake up until 11. I'm just not a morning person. When I had my corporate job, I had to be to work at 8:30, and everyone knew not to even talk to me until 11. Haha. Now, since I make my own schedule, I am able to do what is most comfortable for me. :)

  5. Oh I wish I didn't need to wake up until 8 am lol! That's one of my goals if I ever become my own boss. I wake up at 6 am now to leave at 7:00 to catch my train. It's pretty sad. I definitely consider myself more of a morning person as I got older. There's a peace and calm at that time of the day that I enjoy before things get busy.

  6. I'm like you, I open our store at 10am. so I stay in bed until the very last minute. Just enough time to take a shower and feed the dog. I am hoping to change this soon though because sometimes I feel like I'm missing out.

  7. I'm so not a morning person either, but I really enjoy being awake early- if I get a certain amount done before noon I feel like it has been a successful day! So it's a toss up- some days I can't help myself and sleep in, others I drag my butt outta bed with the hubs around 7-8.

  8. One big reason why I need to be my own boss! Not a morning person whatsoever. I have class at ten so I've been pretty good at getting up around 830, but it's generally not my thing. I always wanted to be one of those people who got up early, ate breakfast, exercised, etc... but that's a reach :)

  9. I'm totally not a morning person! My school day starts at 9 and I have to be there at least 15 minutes before then. Most of the time, I'm barely getting there in time! I love summer vacation because I get up around 9, enjoy my coffee, be lazy for a little while, listen to music, etc. Then I can get my day started. I tried getting up early this school year at the beginning of the year so I could do the same thing before I had to go to school. That lasted a week and a half! :-P

  10. I purposely wake up with my husband early even when I can stay in bed. It it my time to myself before i spend the day with 3 year old who consumes my day rightly so. I can drink my coffee , eat, email, blog, read, knit, crochet...That reminds me I should get to bed!

  13. Right now, my schedule has me getting up at 9:30pm and going to sleep at 2pm. You'd think we were in different time zones, but I'm just on a crazy schedule.
If I get to work full-time from home, I'll still probably keep crazy hours so my boyfriend and I are on a somewhat similar schedule still...2am wake up call anyone :)
