We were expecting to drive to work on Saturday because we saw rain in the forecast; except that when we woke up it was bright and sunny. I was very excited because I'm loving walking to work everyday. Husband checked the weather and saw that the rain would arrive around 3 (we close the shop at 4 on Saturdays). I said we could bring umbrellas just in case. I was very skeptical of the rain because it is Oklahoma. The weather says one thing and does another. And maybe also because walking in the rain sounded kinda fun. So, husband went along with me and we walked to work, despite his reluctance.
At 2 it started raining pretty hard. That lasted for about 30 minutes. I thought that was the rain that was suppose to come at 3, so we were in the clear.
As we closed our shop doors and stood outside, it started sprinkling. I was a bit giddy.
We hardly made it down the block when it started raining enough for our umbrellas. It was windy so our clothes got pretty wet.
I actually had a great time walking in the rain with my loves. It smelled amazing, it sounded amazing and we laughed the whole time.
I'm so happy my husband is a good sport. Even though he knew we'd have to walk in the rain he was okay with it because he knew it would make me happy. He's truly amazing.
Doesn't he look handsome with my black and white flower umbrella?

Pretty photo & neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteWalking in the rain is so fun sometimes!!! It just feels so refreshing. Pouring down rain is definitely the best to get caught in!
ReplyDeleteI'm not gonna lie...my first reaction to the photo was..."Are those flowers on his umbrella?" LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun...you two are so cute :) It rained here ALL day Saturday which was awesome since we needed it so badly!
Lovely photo! I like walk in the rain too but without wind, here sometimes is impossible to open the umbrella.
ReplyDeleteI like walking in the rain, provided it's not a total downpour. They're not lying when they call Chicago the Windy City. :-)
ReplyDeleteWalking in the rain is fun... A nice light rain with no wind! :)
ReplyDeletewalking in the rain is something we love to do around here too.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is the puddle splasher...I admit I do it too.
So much fun! Here the rain is too cold to enjoy walking in it. And the weather is too cold. Lame! Enjoy the warm rain for us!
ReplyDeleteI have this random memory from my freshman year of college where I was walking back to my dorm from class and it started pouring. For whatever reason, I was overwhelmed (in a good way) by how free I felt, just walking along, getting soaked. Sometimes taking a walk in the rain can be the best feeling in the world!
ReplyDeleteWe got over 5 inches of rain in two days and it was spectacular!! I know what you mean by feeling energized by the downpour :)
ReplyDeletedid you jump in any puddles??? :-)

I love walking in the rain! You're right...the smells are so much different, more pronounced!
ReplyDeleteawwwww! you two are adorable <3
ReplyDeleteYou guys are so cute. Daily commuting with no car means I've walked in the rain a lot. And the snow. And the sleet. And whatever else the weather feels like doing that day. I would be lying if I said I loved it all the time though; it sucks to get caught in the rain on the way to work and know you're going to have wet shoes and socks all day. But sometimes, like on a Saturday afternoon, I can think of nothing better than going for a walk with my bf even if it's raining. :)
ReplyDeleteYour husband is too awesome with that umbrella. What a good sport!
ReplyDeleteI have to do the same thing walking to school. The mile and a half in the rain would really put a damper on my afternoon. But an intentional walk in the rain? Nothing better.
