little tan man

It's 70 and sunny today here in Oklahoma! The past couple of days have been cold and rainy and I was in a lazy mood. It's hard for me to be productive when it's cold and gloomy out! But the sun is out and I'm in good spirits!!

We still have Andy in our lives, well, until tomorrow. His family comes home tomorrow!
For today, he's helping me stay on track while he gets a tan.






I need to list new things in my stelabird shop! I have pillows, pins, birds, and small birds to add! I just need to take pictures.

I do have new earrings at You're a dreamboat and I'll be listing these today and tomorrow! I love chrysanthemum earrings!

We love when Andy sings!

He melts my heart. I'm turning into a push-over dog sitter though! We put him in his kennel last night and headed to bed. I felt so bad when I heard him whimpering! I tried to ignore it but with each cry I felt sad. So I let him lie in bed with us on my side of the bed. He curled up against me and fell asleep. When I woke up I found myself sore from sleeping on my side all night and I was in a ball because he ended up in the middle of the bed under my legs. I moved him back to the side of the bed but of course he moved back next to me, and he ended up in the middle. I may just have to cover my ears tonight so I can't hear him whimper! It breaks my heart but sleeping is so uncomfortable. Plus, in the future, when I have my own dog, I don't want to be on It's Me Or The Dog because I've let my dog run my life (which I can see happening with the way I'm going)!

Also, when we leave the house, I worry about Andy being home alone! haha I just get nervous something is going to happen to him! Or that he's sad and lonely.

Riley & I are doggie-sitting our friends' precious chinese crested named, Andy, for a few days.

The doggie-sitting started last night. I was wondering how the night would go with him, but he slept the whole time! We even had heavy rains and hail early this morning and he just slept through it.






It's been chilly here in Oklahoma, and Andy is kinda naked so we like to keep him warm in a fleece blanket.
Wow, didn't mean to rhyme.









He's been sleeping all day, and I don't know if that's his normal behavior or if he's depressed since he misses "mom and dad".


I know Chinese crested aren't known to be active dogs, but sleeping all day? I feel bad. Poor guy. Maybe he's sleeping because it's lazy Saturday. Or maybe because we're relaxing on the couch with our computers, and not being active.

We're excited to have him here!!

Happy First of May! I have a feeling the month of May will be a good one.
It's cloudy, rainy and in the low 50s here in Enid, OK but it made my coffee that much more lovely.
I will be listing a Little Bigfoot in my shop today!

Have you heard of Okeene, Oklahoma? Your answer is probably no.
Well, our Riley Jantzen was born and raised in this little town of 1,200.
That's correct, population of 1,200.
Well, this weekend in Okeene, OK is the RATTLESNAKE ROUNDUP!
I have not had the honor in attending this event, and I'm not too sure I want to. Snakes freak me out.
Riley says the rattlesnake hunt started long ago when there were too many rattlesnakes in the area so they had a bunch of people wrangle them up. Eventually, it turned into an annual event.
I asked if people have gotten bitten during the roundup, his answer "oh yea"
has anyone died? Riley: yea
They host the event 1 block from the hospital. Good idea.

Starting tonight Riley and I will have a doggie!!! For a few days.
But hey, I'm super happy to have a precious doggie in my life for a little bit!

Stelabird now at Scribner's Gallery

Last night was first friday in Enid, which is where downtown businesses stay open later , have live entertainment, etc. Riley was the live entertainment at Scribner's Gallery

I pity the fool

First and foremost, Happy April Fool's Day! Did you play a prank on anyone today? I suck at April Fool's so once again, I did not participate. I kinda did one on accident a month ago. I had a hard time telling my mom and sister that I was moving back to Enid so when I told them (separately) I kinda made it dramatic, such as "hey, I have something to tell you" in a weary voice. But then it was followed by a "We won't be moving to Tulsa yet, we're coming to Enid". See not so bad. But I still ended up giving my mom and sister a heart attack and their first thought was that I was pregnant. Geez, come on ladies! So they wanted to beat me up for scaring them, and for being so dramatic. Hehe, oops.

Last weekend I met this awesome couple that own an art gallery in downtown Enid called Scribner's Gallery & Studio. Not only that but they are amazing artists! We had discussed selling Stelabird goodies there so today Riley and I went to show my wares. And in the process I got to meet Andy Warhol.

As you see, Andy is a chinese crested who is super sweet and has to wear sunscreen when he's outside.

So anyways, I will start selling at Scribner's THIS Friday! Normally, I would give myself a couple of weeks to start preparing merchandise for a new location but this Friday is Enid's First Friday, where downtown stores & restaurants stay open later and Scriber's has snacks, drinks, a new artist in the gallery, and live music-which happens to be Riley! Sooooo, you can see why I'm going to rush to make them merchandise to have that night.
If you're wondering why I don't just give them my inventory....it's because I don't have much inventory! Eeks! Once the items in my etsy shop sell and I relist, I don't make the product unless it gets sold again. And I'm constantly making things but then they go to my store locations. So I have a lot to make by Friday. But no worries, I have these clamp lights that help me work through the night without straining my eyes
