Happy May!!

Hello friends!
Happy First of May! I have a feeling the month of May will be a good one.
It's cloudy, rainy and in the low 50s here in Enid, OK but it made my coffee that much more lovely.
I will be listing a Little Bigfoot in my shop today!

Have you heard of Okeene, Oklahoma? Your answer is probably no.
Well, our Riley Jantzen was born and raised in this little town of 1,200.
That's correct, population of 1,200.
Well, this weekend in Okeene, OK is the RATTLESNAKE ROUNDUP!
I have not had the honor in attending this event, and I'm not too sure I want to. Snakes freak me out.
Riley says the rattlesnake hunt started long ago when there were too many rattlesnakes in the area so they had a bunch of people wrangle them up. Eventually, it turned into an annual event.
I asked if people have gotten bitten during the roundup, his answer "oh yea"
has anyone died? Riley: yea
They host the event 1 block from the hospital. Good idea.

Starting tonight Riley and I will have a doggie!!! For a few days.
But hey, I'm super happy to have a precious doggie in my life for a little bit!

a little update!

I just wanted to stop in and leave a little update!
I've been getting ready for an indie arts & craft fair that's taking place in Fort Worth, Texas called Funky Finds Spring Fling! It's THIS SATURDAY!!

I'm leaving Friday to go to Dallas and hang out with my bestie, Goldie! She'll be helping me on Saturday so come out and see us!!

It's cold and dreary out, and even the coffee can't perk me up.
I woke up and did the computer thing: email, convos, twitter, myspace, blog.
Then I put tags on all the merchandise I'm giving to Dwelling Spaces. I really need to look into getting better tags. That's going on my "look into" list.
Here are the things I've been working on all weekend that will be at Dwelling Spaces this week, maybe. Oklahoma is expected to get our annual winter storm this week. Ice, ice and more ice. So, we'll see.

We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming...
After posting the yeti photo Riley and I went to the store to get groceries before the weather got bad. I couldn't tell how bad it was until my car skidded a bit past the stop sign. On our way to the store everyone was going 20 mph in a 50 mph street.
I knew road conditions weren't good but I totally under estimated the parking lot.
I opened my car door, stepped out and WHAM fell on my booty. I was still holding on to the car door trying not to slide under. I should have known not to wear chucks, those are devil shoes when it comes to bad weather. My booty still hurts.
Ok, now back to your regular programming...

I have a couple hours before I go to my next class and I'm bored. I should be making stuff but I want to leave that for tonight! I have a problem with missing class because of stelabird. Once I start I can't stop, or I lose track of time. So I have to wait till later. Riley is being occupied with video games, he seems to indulge in them more in the fall/winter.

On Wednesday I'm going to start a new poll and it's going to be about a giveaway. They are everywhere and I think they are a wonderful idea! So my poll will give you the chance to vote for what you would like for me to give in my giveaway.

We've been having some plumbing problems here and it's stressing me out! Anytime we do laundry or wash the dishes the water comes up in the bathtub and the toilet and ends up overflowing! Maintenance has come over so many times but it's still happening. Plus, the toilet and tub don't drain. So I'm super peeved and want to cry.

Yetis VS Little Bigfoots-Duck, Duck, GOOSE

Here's the second installment of the mini yeti/bigfoot battles!! This time it's a friendly game of Duck, duck, goose!
I personally hated this game as a kid because it would give me great anxiety.
And also, I hope to have more of these videos out but since it's Riley who makes them for me I can't be too picky! So, enjoy!!

nice simple day

Today was a nice simple day.
Slept in to the nice rainy weather with Riley.
Woke up, brewed coffee, started working on finishing up the yetis and little bigfoots for Blue 7.

Riley helps me make decisions with stelabird (because I'm so indecisive) but today he gave yetis and little bigfoots life (filled them)!


It was great to have him help me. We had nothing to do all day so after that we drove to OKC to drop them off at Blue 7 and then did a little bit of shopping.
We came home and I cleaned up my craft room. Organized my fleece, felts and faux furs.

A nice simple day.

I love Thursdays!!
No work, no classes, just me & my creations! I should be preparing for a presentation I have to give tomorrow but that just doesn't sound as much fun as making things, taking pictures and blogging. Will I regret this decision? Who knows, stay tuned to find out!
Today I went to Hobby Lobby to buy some fleece and felt since I am running low!

I made him last night. I've been wanting to make mr. squirrel into a plush but I haven't been satisfied with the way it has come out. I can only draw him. I like him on the small plaque waving at the world. He likes it too.



I want a puppy :(

I want one just like ollie (my best friend's family's amazing doggy).
Riley and I have a dog/cat allergy and so far, ollie has been the only dog that I'm totally fine around!
I wish I had more time for a dog!!! I want one :(

I won't get too much into this but let's just say I had a bad day. It didn't help that I wasn't feeling "right" mentally. After work I knew I had to find my comfort zone otherwise I would be in my crazy daze all night! So first thing I did was pick up Riley and head to the grocery store. On my comfort list: cucumbers, lemons, chocolate cupcakes, fudge rounds and milk. My all time comfort snack are cucumbers in squeezed lemon juice with salt. yummmm. Then we returned home and I changed into pjs, ate all my fatty foods, took medicine and we watched several episodes of The Office. I feel "normal" again.

Riley made this video of the rambunctious bunch! It's always a competition between these mystical creatures. Who's better? The Yeti or the Bigfoot?
They will be available in my etsy shop on September 15th! But for now, watch our videos we are releasing so you can get a chance to know them. They're party animals.

The Yetis now have a place to sit together!! I found the little wooden box at Hobby Lobby and painted it light blue. This little set up is going to
Dwelling Spaces once I finish making the owl snugglies. I'll probably get another one to have at Indie Emporium. Tomorrow is a planned photo shoot with the yetis and little bigfoots!! I'm very excited.

Today Riley put a new song on his myspace!! It's called Garden Green. When he first recorded it he gave me the cd to listen to in my car. I must say, I was obsessed!! I listen to the song on repeat. So today he finally put it up for everyone else to listen and enjoy!! So check it out here!

Looking at my poll I had for August it looks like shoulder bags win! I better start working on that and see what happens. I'm having a hard time thinking of what to do for my poll for September. Any suggestions?
