behind the scenes

Sunday and Monday are my days off from our shop so those are my
errands, sewing, going out of town or being lazy days. Yesterday got to
be my sewing day. We rent a one bedroom historic home built in the early 1900s. I absolutely love it. But since there isn't much space we made our
dining room work as a workspace too. When I'm sewing, Dexter loves to either
sit under my sewing table or on the window seat. See him lying over there to the right? That's also where I take my Make It photos!
My sewing project yesterday was making more zipper pouches for
my boutique. You can learn how to make your own here
And that my friends, is where I make things...and eat.

What's your workspace like?
Happy May 1st!

my craft space

We've been living in this new place for 5 months now and I finally got my craft space together. I've had my sewing machine in a corner but it wasn't inspiring at all. I'm trying to get back into creating again and refilling the local boutiques I sell at, including my own. Ever since opening up my local boutique I've had the hardest time getting back into making products for stelabird
and doing craft shows. I'm hoping that putting my craft space together will inspire me to get back to work on Stelabird. Here's a peek around my craft space!

my little helper

Today is my day off so I better use this valuable time to start making some owl snugglies & felt birds!
What do you do to help inspire you?

the wall

MY PRINTS CAME IN THE MAIL TODAY!!!
I was over the moon excited! Now I can complete my wall in the craft room.
These come from staceywinters.etsy.com
She is hands-down my favorite photographer. I can never wait to see what she'll list in her shop!

and she even sent along these adorable deer pins!! AH!

So here is the wall of etsy art!

We have on this wall:
prints from Stacey Winters!!
Lovely Deer

Blue Bird

Squirrel's Friend

prints from Berkley Illustration!
Squirrel Lady & Raccoon

Billy Goat

Panda & Great White Shark

Bunny

and a print from The Black Apple
Birdcage Girls Trio print

I also got in this poster!
Keep Calm and Carry On from cutpasteprint.etsy.com

I believe we all need this poster!
I know when my bobbin starts being lame or my hands have a mind of their own that I start cussing up a storm and throw in the towel! This print will remind me to stop stressing over nothing...maybe. I'll let you know.

I plan to get more prints in a month or so. I'm looking for prints with animals on them. Particularly woodland creatures. So if you have prints of woodland creatures let me know!!

It's 28 degrees here in Oklahoma...and it's snowing. WHAT THE HELL OKLAHOMA!!!!
I think you forgot it's March. The month you decide to stay above the 60s. Remember? Not this time? Oh, ok. You suck.

I've done it again

First, I'd like to start off saying THANK YOU to those who voted on my poll helping make the decision for what to have in the give-away! The polls have closed and the winner is: OWL SNUGGLY!!
I will be having the giveaway WEDNESDAY so please come back and enter to win an owl snuggly on Wednesday!

So, for the thing that I've done again....I've moved my sewing room!
First I was in a room in our home, my own little room! It was awesome, I loved it. But after awhile I felt closed in and claustrophobic.

Riley helped me move into the living room. The living room arrangement was only temporary. I would move back to my room after Indie Emporium. I liked being in the living room because it was an open space.

After Indie Emporium the room was a disaster site! I knew it was time to move back into my old craft room but I didn't know if I wanted to just yet. I knew I couldn't leave the room empty while I was in the living room and the bed nook! So I made up my mind. We were moving the bed into my old craft room and I was moving my work space where the bed use to be. So now we have a bedroom! Weird.

So that's what we've been doing all day. I'm so happy Riley loves arranging stuff as much as I do. He never rolls his eyes whenever I decide it's time to up and move something.

How's your monday?

a change will do you good

I don't know how to explain this but my craft room is now in the living room.
Do you ever feel like you are hidden in your home? Well I was feeling hidden and I think Riley wanted me to be out of my room too so he moved my craft room into the living room yesterday. It'll be there for the next 2 weeks and then I'm moving back into my room. But this is a nice change of scenery. I'm calling it: The living craft room.

I'm excited because Riley offered to help me make little bigfoots and yetis for the craft show coming up. Speaking of those little boogers, I listed a yeti in my shop.

The cheese stands alone.

I got a few of these awesome cabochons in the mail today!

So I turned them into rings. I think I'm going to keep one! I like it too much.

You will be able to find them at Indie Emporium.

If you could change one thing about your life/work/school what would it be?

nice simple day

Today was a nice simple day.
Slept in to the nice rainy weather with Riley.
Woke up, brewed coffee, started working on finishing up the yetis and little bigfoots for Blue 7.

Riley helps me make decisions with stelabird (because I'm so indecisive) but today he gave yetis and little bigfoots life (filled them)!

It was great to have him help me. We had nothing to do all day so after that we drove to OKC to drop them off at Blue 7 and then did a little bit of shopping.
We came home and I cleaned up my craft room. Organized my fleece, felts and faux furs.

A nice simple day.

last week of summer

I can not believe it is already Friday! Here's my week in some pictures!

Went to Dallas to visit my bestie, Goldie! Here we are enjoying some dave & buster's.

On Wednesday I headed home to visit my family

Returning back to Stillwater I wrote my paper about my intern and cleaned up my craft room!!
I added a table to hold my jewelry, accessories and makeup because my bathroom is too dark and small for that.

Classes begin on monday!! My final semester! A little bit bittersweet. I won't worry about that too much, I'll just enjoy it as much as I can. A busy day tomorrow for me so I must stop watching the Olympics and get some rest.
