Song on Repeat // Charlie Brown Theme

There are a few things that remind me of my favorite season, fall. 

One of them being A Boy Named Charlie Brown soundtrack by Vince Guaraldi Trio. I cannot wait for fall to get here so I'm taking those little things that remind me of the season to feel like it's here. Plus, that album seems to put me in a good mood. 

Husband learned the song Charlie Brown Theme and started playing it last night on the piano. It made my heart so happy! So, the song on repeat this week is Charlie Brown Theme by Vince Guaraldi Trio.

Song on Repeat // Ventura Highway

For today's Song on Repeat I am taking it back. All the way back to 1972.  

Husband started randomly playing Ventura Highway by America on his guitar and I got so excited! I forgot how much I loved that song. So of course, in true Stela fashion, I started listening to it like crazy. Plus, it's PERFECT summer, driving with the windows down music!!

Song on Repeat // Darkness

The song on repeat this week is Darkness by my wonderful husband Riley Jantzen. He is so talented and I'm so lucky to have him fill our home with his beautiful music. It's so amazing to hear him begin to write a new song. It just amazes me how he can just create something like that. 

This song is so cool because it's such a sweet love song but it's setting is quite dark (the end of the world). And what can I say, his voice is my favorite.

Song on Repeat // Away Frm U

Hello friends! It's Sunday, you know what that means. SONG ON REPEAT! That's right, I'm sharing the song I can't stop listening to. 

And that song this week my dears is Away Frm U (check out that spelling) by Oberhofer.  Their debut album Time Capsules II was released earlier this year. I'm actually enjoying the whole album, so be sure to check that out too.

Anyways, I gotta warn you guys. I love this song, I do, but there is this part at the very beginning where he does this ooo-ooo thing and it just makes me roll my eyes so hard they pretty much fall out of my head. I'm not sure why it bothers me so. I seriously cringe. And the thing is he only does it that once and then never again! Why didn't you just cut that part out?! I'm feeling very dramatic right now. Anyways, after that one pointless 1 second part, the song is awesome.

I've mentioned before that I listen to different types of music during the different seasons. Summer it's usually jazz, singer/songwriter acoustic stuff or alternative rock. So far this summer I can't stop listening to Alt Nation on Sirius XM. Perhaps it's my lazy summer mindset, I've transported back to my early 20s. This song on repeat is a song from last year but it's new to me and that's what really matters here!

Their album was released last week and it is so good! Also, this video is pretty dreamy.

The song I can't stop listening to lately is Sunrise Sunset by We Are Trees.

This song is from 2010, but I just stumbled upon it for the first time this month and I'm so happy I did.

songs on repeat: sxsw edition

We're back from our trip to Austin! It was a lot of fun but I hope to stay for longer next year; hopefully get a chance to do more and explore Austin, because we didn't get that chance this trip. 

Also, I discovered I'm bad at taking photos when I'm in large crowds. It may be I'm too distracted by everything else that I forget to snap photos, who knows, but I hardly took any photos while there. Wah wah. 

I did get a photo of husband playing on Tuesday night at Friends, our first night there. Actually the only photos I took were of some my favorite bands we got to see.  

We started our next day at the Warby Parker outdoor stage. I thought this was the perfect way to start the day because it wasn't in the chaos of the festival. 

For this week's Song on Repeat I'll be sharing my favorite songs from my favorite bands we got to see at SXSW.

Normally I just share what song I can't stop listening to but this time it's a band's whole album I can't stop listening to. That band is Tennis and it's their new album Young & Old, that was released last month. This album puts me in a good mood and it just sounds like Spring to me.

I love listening to different types of indie music during different seasons. 

During these cold winter months when I'm not listening to Christmas music, I'm in the mood for electronic music. I believe I love it when it's cold out because night starts at 5:30, there are lights glowing, and all the holiday parties.

Song on Repeat // Phantogram

I chose a couple of songs for my song on repeat this week! 

The band Phantogram released their new EP Nightlife last month and I cannot get enough of it! Today I'm sharing my two favorite songs from that EP: Don't Move and 16 years.

We listen to Christmas music all day at the shop so coming home and listening to this is a great treat.

How is everyone's Sunday going so far? It's 36 degrees and cloudy here in Oklahoma so we're staying in where it's warm and being lazy. 
The song on repeat today is Afternoon by Youth Lagoon. 
The other day the Mr. and I were driving down a road surrounded by beautiful trees with colorful leaves while listening to this song and I felt like we were in a car commercial! It was just one of those moments.
