Lately

It's kinda crazy how many changes can happen in just over 2 1/2 months.
Here's my lately:
I'm now Assistant Director of Main Street Enid
Main Street Enid, Inc., is a 501 (c)3 non-profit whose mission is to revitalize our downtown through promotion, organization, design and economic restructuring. Main Street Enid seeks to promote the quality of life in Enid by strengthening the Downtown as the center of the community.
I absolutely love it.
A couple weeks ago I was all sorts of famous and went on Pegasys, Enid's local television station, to do Community Talk.
It consisted of me making lots of stupid faces.
Another exciting change this year is WE'RE MOVING SHOP LOCATIONS!!
We are so excited to be moving our shop into a beautiful building and a better location downtown!
read the article here
We close our current location on February 15th. (We wanted to stay open through Valentine's Day. ) After that we'll start the move over to our new space and have our Re-Grand Opening Party March 1st! SO EXCITED!!
Dexter recently went to the groomers, and with his little fro and beard he came out looking like Darth Vader. It's pretty awesome.

Lately // October & November

Hi friends! I took an unexpected blog break for the month of October.
I've been slackin' in the personal social media side of things too. I'm very out of the loop. Today, at the shop, we were open for a special event, and I had this cool kid show me the wood mushroom that he made from my blog. He was telling me how he was wanting to make the felt donut but hasn't yet. This seriously made my day. Shoot, made my year. I was so thrilled and it got me missing my blog. It reminded me why I loved blogging so much.
I thought I would do a lately post to recap my October & November. If you follow me on instagram then these photos are nothing new, sorry! To be honest, I've been pretty bad at instagramming too! We all need a break sometimes, right?

1. It's fall!!! Which meant I had my space heater going and I was knitting lots of infinity scarves for my shop. I gotta admit, I felt like a grandma.
2. We moved. And I am so very sad about it. I LOVED that home so so much, but the owner of the home needed a place to live, and well, that was that. You know what's freaky? On my August 14th blog post, with a picture of our newly decorated living room I wrote: Thursday around midnight we decided to rearrange our living room. We woke up early Friday morning and bought a new rug and hung up our art on the walls. After living here for over a year we finally decided to decorate it! I think we've become jaded. We move into a new space, decorate it and make it perfect for us and then within a few months or so we are moving again. This current house is the place we've stayed at the longest. We probably jinxed ourselves by decorating the living room! We totally jinxed ourselves. A month and a half later we moved. We're currently saving and hoping to buy our first home soon.
3. On October 15th husband and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary! I cannot believe it's been a year! I'm so happy to be married to my best friend!
4. Husband and I helped with a fundraiser to raise money for our downtown's annual holiday event. It was Christmas Karaoke. Husband sang The Christmas Song, then after 3 glasses of wine we sang our favorite creeper song Baby, It's Cold Outside. It was our first time to do karaoke, and I gotta say, it was pretty fun!
5. I've been cuddling lots of dogs lately. If you have a dog, I'll cuddle it!
6. We've been getting ready for the holidays at our shop! We haven't been able to keep up with our online shop so we had to close that down temporarily. We've been getting lots of emails & facebook messages about ordering products, which has worked out pretty well. So, if you see anything you like on our facebook page please feel free to message us, email us at info@thefeltbird.com or call us at 580-540-8903, to place your order. We take payment over the phone or through paypal!
7. Getting ready for the holidays = getting lots of fun new items! I love this Mr. & Mrs. mug set!
8. We celebrated FIL's birthday with some bowling! I beat them all 4 games. I also broke it to my husband that I was in a bowling league when I was little (3-6th grade) and my average was 150. His mind exploded.
9. Fall means mum time!!! I bought some mums to have outside our shop, and in true Stela fashion, I didn't water them and they died. I was so sad. So, I bought some more and I'm trying to remember to water them daily. So far, so good.

1. October was coming to an end and I hadn't carved a pumpkin yet! We were planning a Halloween party with our friends and we decided we should carve pumpkins too. I love searching for the perfect pumpkin.
2. I was really excited about being at the pumpkin patch I had to take a picture as a pumpkin.
3. Our Halloween consisted of yummy food, carving pumpkins and watching It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
4. Our black and white striped shirts prevailed again this Halloween! Last year we were burglars, this year (a repeat from 2008, last election year) we were from a wonderful country. French! I'm pretty sure the black and white striped shirts will be used again next year. We're that bad at Halloween.
5. We dressed Dexter up for the Halloween party as Mr. bones! He wouldn't move. We had to coax him with lots of treats.
6. Dexter decided to join husband in singing for our shop's November First Friday event.
7. On November 6th we voted! We were expecting to wait in line since we saw our friends on facebook talk about waiting. We walked to our location, grabbed a ballot, voted and left. No waiting!
8. That evening we got dressed up and went to our friends loft for election night/fancy party! We wanted an excuse to dress up and drink champagne and eat yummy food.
9. I like this little promo card we made so I wanted to share!

That's what's been going on my friends!
What have you been up to?!
I have a lot of blog catching up to do.

insta-Stela-gram

1. I love, love, love our rental home. We've been here for a year and a half now. It's a home in the historic district, built in 1907.
2. Our teal vintage chair is Dexter's favorite seat in the house.
3. Love this striped tray that belongs to our friends.
4. Paint colors I used to paint blocks & magnets. I shared the end result on yesterday's post
5. Our latest grocery store trip resulted in our cart looking like we had children or that we were children. Do you see those kool-aid drinks? We haven't had those since elementary school! So we got some and it makes me want a turkey sandwich with chips in it!!
6. This weekend we headed to OKC with some friends and had brunch at Cafe Do Brasil. It was absolutely delicious and mimosas were fantastic.
7. After brunch we headed to our favorite theatre to watch The Dark Knight Rises.
8. Have I mentioned to you guys before that husband is sooo good at impressions? So good! So anyways, he was talking to Dexter in his bane and his batman voice. It was hilarious and spot on!
9. We made Dexter take a picture with his watermelon toy as a hat. He was not happy about that.

Lately

I failed to do my Friday Favorite searching earlier in the week again
soooo I'll be doing my lately post instead!

1. Husband just being all cas while he puts gas in my car. I'm spoiled..and lazy.
2. We love friend time. Their home & gallery is downtown (like ours) so we decided to be rebellious and drink wine and walk around our lovely downtown.
3. Our friends made us delicious hamburgers! They are really good at making regular ol' food fancy.
4. Dexter is weird about laying on our porch unless he has his little dog mat to lay on. And of course his big stick that we leave outside for such occasions.
5. This adorable little kitty roamed onto our lawn earlier this week. We ended up being late to work that day since we were making sure Kitty would be safe. Luckily Kitty belonged to one of our neighbors!
6. My mind was blown when I saw Dexter put only his red toys in his red bed.
7. Guys, I love kid cereal. Lucky Charms & Fruit Loops are my favorite! And if you noticed on that box that a Star Wars pen was included: I got Darth Maul. It was frightening.
8. This is my typical breakfast; if I have eggs, strawberries, grapes and bread in the house at the same time.

Saturday I'm heading to Dallas for my sister's birthday. We're going to Medieval Times. It's going to be fantastic. You may want to follow me on instagram to see how that unfolds. @stelabird

What are your weekend plans?
Have an amazing weekend!

2. Dexter is such a sports fan.
3. Looking all patriotic the day before July 4th is how I do things.
4. Enjoying some CherryBerry. My favorite is cookie monster yogurt with strawberries, blueberries and kiwi.
5. Dexter is such a nature boy.
6. A lovely little tree outside my shop.
7. My boys.
8. We had First Friday last week at the shop. I gotta admit, our punch and cookies are freaking delicious.
9. It finally cooled down and rained here in Oklahoma!
10. Husband and I love playing air hockey! We each won once and left it at that.

life lately

1. Husband playing at the Enid's Farmers Market last weekend.
2. We bought peaches from the Farmers Market.
Phew, guys. I cannot come up with good captions right now. I'm not feeling 100%. It may be the meds that's making my mind feel loopy and uncreative. Please bare with me.
   3. Rainy day on the porch.
(This is really hard to do today!)
4. Prosciutto pasta is one of our favorite meals! I was going to share the recipe but I can't find one online. I may have to share ours with you. (getting a little bit better...ish)
5. Cookies for breakfast is a great start to the day!
6. Dexter will have his moments where he sits on your lap and stares at your face from a super close distance. I love that little guy.
7. Putt-Putt date with husband! He won. However, I was the only one who got a hole in one, so...I think I'm the real winner here.
8. 3am shadow puppetry. Husband comes up with the best shadow puppets. He says this is a horse. We would get excited when a car would drive by. We hoped they saw and appreciated our shadow puppets.
9. We haven't been to our local movie theatre since 2010. The last few times we went back in the day the screens were awful and off centered, no concessions, it was dirty and it smelled like someone died in the theatre. Well, we decided to go yesterday after hearing it wasn't as bad anymore. It wasn't bad, but we were in the tiniest movie theatre ever. It only had 4 rows. I suppose our movie wasn't a big ticket seller anymore.

Was that as hard to read as this was to write?
I'm going to now treat myself with a chocolate donut.

life lately

I'm so bad at blogging and reading blogs in the warm months!
My above photos pretty much sum up my past 2 weeks of
relaxing, eating, drinking, and relaxing!
We live a simple life.

1. I mentioned numerous times how husband sings to Dexter and little dog will sing along. Well, here's a shot of that happening!
2. Attached to Enid's dog park is a little lake for the dogs to play in during the warm months. We love throwing his ball in the water for him to fetch.
3. I love sitting on the balcony at one of our favorite restaurants in Downtown Enid. I also love that it's only 2 blocks from our home.
4. I love rainy days.
5. Watching the OKC Thunder game with my boys.
6. We find lots of pigeon feathers around our shop downtown, so we've started collecting them.
7. I felt like a girl with my lace top, pretty vintage blue ring and peach nail polish. Most days I'm wearing boy shirts.
8. We've moved my sewing machine to the shop so I can make stuff during the slow parts of the day. I love having it there.
9. Enjoying some delicious mexican food & beer! Any chance to eat outside on their patio we do!
10. For movie night we watched We Bought a Zoo. It was really good and it made me cry! However, I think that little boy fell in love a little too fast! But after thinking that I remember saying I love you at 14! Yikes!
11. I LOVE this ring. It can get a little dangerous though.
12. I love white wine in the summer. It's just so cold and refreshing! One of my faves is A to Z Pinot Gris
13. Found a hawk feather outside our home and while trying to take a picture Dexter snuck in the shot to smell what I was holding.
14. Another current favorite summer drink of mine are the starbucks refreshers.
15. I love spending at least one of my days off being super lazy on the couch, reading and snuggling my pup.
16. Our shop sidewalk sign is Thundered Up!
17. Little dog cooling off his feet in a water bowl at the dog park.
18. Our lovely little shop in downtown Enid, OK!

life lately

1. Having drinks with friends at our favorite downtown pub
2. Husband sings to Dexter daily. Sometimes Dex will sing along. It's one of my favorite things in the world.
3. I got my first sno-cone of the season! Woo!
4. Made necklaces for our local shop! I can't decide if I should put them in our online shop. Guys, I am so terrible at putting new products on there! I need to get it together.
5. Have you guys heard of the cartoon Adventure Time? Well, it's my favorite. And on Sunday they had a marathon; so I was doing my Make It post and watching that. It was awesome. You wanna know what's not awesome? That sad blue and black spot on my macbook screen. That happened in 2010.
6. It's been a stormy few days here in Oklahoma.
7. A morning ritual. Drinking coffee and checking emails. And all those social networking sites.
8. The family hanging out on the porch before work.
9. We got a restock of the fox, camera and heart ring at our shop! Also, they are back in the online shop!  Oh man, look at me! ... re-listing things. Baby steps!
10. If you live in Enid (or close-ish) come out to our shop's Block Party!! We'll have free food, drinks and live music! It's going to be tons o' fun!

Well, that's my life lately.
What have you been up to lately?
Have a great weekend friends!!

life lately

This land we belong to is grand. (I love Oklahoma)
Dexter is playing at the dog park with his buddy Boomer.
New necklaces at our local boutique. My fav is the compass!
Constantly trying new red wines. We decided to try this one because on the back it said "with a velvet finish like a jazz solo 'round midnight". Ah! So corny! I must try it! It was pretty good too.
One of my favorite eateries in Enid is Port Lugano. I always get the tomato basil soup and pasta salad. And you always get a chocolate covered strawberry! Yum!
Dexter and I relaxing on the porch while we watch husband make the lawn a little more presentable. And this was the last photo of Dexter's long hairdo!
Oh Grandma, you were such a sweet little cat.
We bought this. I couldn't pass it up. A couple years ago Husband found a wood burning of a buff unicorn at a thrift shop and rescued it. Now we have a wood burning of grandma the cat. We are slowly starting a collection of random and awful-ly charming wood burning art.
RICE KRISPIE TREATS in the making!
Naked Dexter giving me the give me some krispie treats mom look.
I'd assume Dexter would call me mom. He better not call me Stela!
But anyways, yea, he's being Mr. Beggy Begs-a-lot.

life lately

♥ Love him to pieces! It's about time for his summer haircut.
I've been making zipper pouches for our local shop and thinking about
updating my etsy shop. But I can't decide if I want to do that or open
a storenvy shop. What do you guys think?
I wear a lot of boys clothes from American Apparel. I really need to get
some ladies clothes. Oh, and this picture is showing that I don't care
about matching my shoes to my shirt. I'm wild.
Getting my hair trimmed. Finally! Also, I shared this photo on instagram and
facebook and people said it looked like I had a cigarette in my mouth.
First off, I don't smoke, and second, I don't think they would allow that in the salon. However, it was a lollipop and it was tasty.
This was our set up for the vlog! Do you like our fancy tripod? And also,
as you can see, I had a glass or two of wine. I was nervous! I sat in front
of the camera and froze. That's also why I had husband join me.
I made these earrings for myself and decided I had to share how to make
them with you guys! You can see how to make them HERE.
I just want to give this little guy a noogie! (Oh, just did!) Isn't his
little curly fro adorable? Seriously though, I need to schedule an appointment
with the groomer! He will be melting in no time with the summer heat.
